Today we
want to talk about Ramadan. Ramadan is one of the most important events
in Muslim families. It takes place between the months of March and April and
starts on the night of the crescent moon. It lasts for approximately one month,
which can be 29 or 30 days depending on the year. Ramadan has traditionally
been a period of fasting, prayer and reflecting, in which Muslims are required
to abstain from food from dawn until sunset every day for the duration of the
month. For the Islamic world, Ramadan is not a celebration, but a time of
spiritual and religious contemplation.
